Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA), the co-op behind the US Tillamook ice cream brand, is releasing a new seasonal line-up of nostalgic ice cream flavours for a limited time.
Featuring classic flavours with a modern twist, the line includes Salty Caramel Pretzel, made with a base of salted vanilla ice cream churned with chocolate-covered pretzels and salted caramel; and Apple Crisp, inspired by 'memories of cooking with grandparents' and featuring vanilla ice cream with baked oatmeal streusel and crisp apple pieces.
“When dreaming up the new Salty Caramel Pretzel recipe, our R&D team spent hours testing the combination of salted caramel and chocolate-covered pretzels in our extra creamy vanilla ice cream to make this decadent flavour that’s perfect for summer,” said Hunter Clayton, senior R&D associate scientist at TCCA. “To create the Apple Crisp flavour, we used a recipe from my mother as a base to help us translate apple crisp into ice cream. We all know the smell and unforgettable taste of a warm apple crisp, and what better way to tap into that nostalgia than a homemade recipe.”
These limited-edition varieties are the newest additions to the brand's growing line-up after it introduced its first-ever curated collection of dark chocolate ice creams last year, the Tillamook Chocolate Collection, made with 45% more cocoa than Tillamook classic chocolate ice cream.
Tillamook Ice Cream, including the Salty Caramel Pretzel and Apple Crisp flavours, is available across the US at Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, Publix, Ahold Delhaize and other retailers. Previous limited-edition flavours will also be re-released, with Orange & Cream and Campfire Peanut Butter Cup returning to freezer shelves in shareable-sized tubs.
