Renais secures £4.95m in funding to fuel global expansion

Renais secures £4.95m in funding to fuel global expansion

UK gin brand Renais, co-founded by siblings Emma and Alex Watson, has secured a £4.95 million in funding to support international growth.

Since its launch in May 2023, the gin is now available in 11 countries, with distribution agreements in 22, including entry into the US market.

The funding will drive further international expansion and continued growth in the US, focusing on new state-level distribution and marketing campaigns to showcase its offerings to a wider audience. This year, Renais also plans to expand into France, Spain, Dubai and Canada.

Investors include drinks industry experts such as US private equity firm InvestBev and master distiller and founding president of Maison Villevert, Jean-Sebastien Robicquet.

Alex Watson said: “The raise will support expansion in the US off the back of our successful California and New York launch, as well as our continued focus on content and community engagement".

"As consumers preference for premiumisation and a desire to drink less, but better, continues to grow, we are in a unique position in the gin category to capture their attention and tell our story of heritage, craftsmanship and provenance. I am also excited to have some of the foremost drink’s experts on board as investors, their experience will be invaluable to Renais to reach its full potential."

Brian Rosen, general partner of InvestBev, added: "We are thrilled to support Renais Gin in its journey to become a globally recognised brand. The premium gin category continues to demonstrate remarkable potential, and Renais Gin's quality and sustainability credentials align perfectly with our strategic investment focus. We believe our capital—coupled with our deep industry expertise and network – will amplify Renais Gin’s ability to reach new consumers and markets."

Celebrity collaborations have moved beyond traditional advertisements, with stars shaping trends and resonating with consumers. From non-alcoholic spirits and craft gins to coffee, A-list celebrities are making waves in the beverage market.
