JBS has announced a $100 million investment to build two meat processing plants in Vietnam.
The company aims to expand its presence in Southeast Asia and strengthen its global market position.
The facilities will produce beef, pork and poultry, primarily using raw materials imported from Brazil to supply Vietnam and other regional markets.
The agreement was formalised through a MoU with the Vietnamese government, represented by the Northern Investment Promotion, Information and Support Center and Sao Do Group, which manages the Nam Dinh Vu Industrial and Non-Tariff Park. The initiative aligns with Vietnam’s goals to enhance local production and expand its role in the international meat trade.
The first phase of the project will be established in Khu công nghiệp Nam Đình Vũ, featuring a logistics centre with storage, pre-processing, cutting and packaging facilities. The second phase, located in southern Vietnam, is planned to launch two years after the first unit and will include a similar infrastructure with an additional processing plant.

The investment is expected to generate approximately 500 jobs and support technology transfer and technical training programs for Vietnamese workers.
Renato Costa, CEO of Friboi, a Brazilian meat producer owned by JBS, said: “The new factories in Vietnam will not only be an expansion of production capacity, but an investment with a purpose: generating value for the local economy, creating skilled jobs and contributing to food security throughout Southeast Asia. We are investing in the future, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and development."
He added: "The partnership between JBS, the Vietnamese government and our local partners represents an essential strategic step towards our geographic diversification. This move not only strengthens our ability to serve the local market, but also expands our global presence, creating a robust and sustainable production chain that positions us even more competitively on the international stage."
